What is the meaning of IP TV?
Internet Protocol television (IPTV) is a system through which tv services are delivered using the Internet protocol suite over a packet-switched network such as a LAN or the internet, instead of being delivered through traditional terrestrial, satellite signal, and cable television formats.

Do You Need a Set-Top Box for IPTV?

Because most TVs aren’t equipped for IPTV, you may need a set-top box that “translates” what you receive over your internet connection into a format that your TV can read.

Your computer, on the other hand, doesn’t need anything to watch IPTV. Once you sign up for a service, you can use it to stream whatever you want in any of the IPTV formats (which we’ll discuss next).

So if you can mirror your screen to your TV, you can watch IPTV without a set-top box.

Live IPTV

Like broadcast TV, you can also watch shows live on IPTV. Many people watch sporting events this way; it’s easy to stream a game on your phone while you’re on the go.

Other than being broadcast over the internet instead of through traditional TV media, live IPTV is pretty much the same as regular TV.

FOX Sports Go, CBS Sports HQ, Hulu Live TV, and Sling TV all offer live IPTV.

Watch IPTV from your Internet service provider or free live TV channels from any other source in the web.

Features:
✔ M3U and XSPF playlists support
✔ Playlists history
✔ Playing multicast streams with UDP proxy (proxy need to be installed in your LAN)
✔ Grid, list or tile view of TV channels
✔ EPG support in XMLTV and JTV formats
✔ Internal and external video players
✔ Parental control

Additional features are available in Pro version:
✔ Ad free
✔ Start app on device boot option, useful for set-top boxes.
✔ Auto-play last channel option
✔ Extended playlists history

This app doesn’t contain any built-in channels, you should have your playlist with TV channels to use this app.

For multicast streams it’s recommended to use UDP proxy:
* for Windows: download and install UDP-to-HTTP proxy from //borpas.info/download/UdpProxy.exe or check the corresponding option while installing IP-TV Player //borpas.info/iptvplayer
* for Linux: install udpxy (//udpxy.com/index-en.html, //sourceforge.net/projects/udpxy/)
* the best solution would be installing udpxy on your WLAN router, this can be done for DD-WRT (//www.dd-wrt.com) and OpenWrt (//openwrt.org) firmware
* some WLAN routers have built-in udpxy in manufacturer’s firmware
