Professor Dr. Md. Salim Uddin, FCA, FCMA, Chairman, Executive Committee of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, presented a paper titled “Preventing Corruption in Bangladesh : The role of Professional Accountants” in the yearly conference on “Combating Corruptions to achieve SDGs and Vision 2041” recently.
Mr Salim, also Vice President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and Chairman of Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation presented the paper in the event held under the auspices of ICMAB at World Trade Center, Chattogram.
Dr. Salim in his speech said that, the objectives of different branches of accounting science, such as accounting profession, certified accountants, audit, forensic accounting, accounting standards, audit standards, cost management, ethical standards, cost accounting standards, international accounting etc., are the powerful, strategic, excellent and dynamic tools for decision making and achieving different social goals by providing transparent, fair, accountable and timely financial information.
Chairman of Islami Bank said, accounting professionals are making a significant contribution in preventing corruption and ensuring good governance in Bangladesh by fulfilling the important duties of their profession on the basis of justice, morality and transparency.
A huge number of ICMAB members, academics, bankers, business leaders and dignitaries attended the conference.
