The Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has entered into the of online banking aimed at providing modern services to its clients.
The RAKUB’s online Real Time Banking Solution Services was launched through a colourful function at its head office premises in Rajshahi city on Thursday evening.On the occasion, the online services were launched in six branches including the head office simultaneously.
As the largest development partner in all 16 northwest districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, RAKUB has been operating its banking activities in the country’s northwest region targeting its agricultural sector and all its sub-sectors.
Governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Fazle Kabir and RAKUB Chairman Nazrul Islam attended and addressed the launching ceremony as chief and special guests respectively with Managing Director of the bank Sazedur Rahman Khan in the chair.
BB Executive Director Monoj Kumar Biswash, Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi division Jakir Hossain and RAKUB General Managers Towhida Khatun, Engineer Mofizul Haque and Azizul Islam Sarker, among others, were present at the function.
Fazle Kabir said Bangladesh emerged an independent country on the world map to attain economic emancipation and the banking sector plays an important role in achieving the goal .He said the RAKUB has not only developed the agricultural sector in the country’s northwest region but also played a vital role towards its industrialization.
The BB governor urged all concerned to be committed to uphold the success in the days to come.Nazrul Islam said the bank has attained an ever highest profit of Taka 424.5 million during the last 2018-19 financial year, up by Taka 20.7 million than that of the previous fiscal.
At the initial stage of the fiscal, the bank management had formulated a work plan and given direction to the field level workforce for its proper implementation in order to transform the financial institution into a profit-earning and self-reliant one.
Under the work plan, the bank disbursed Taka 23.59 billion loan and recovered Taka 25.29 billion including classified loan. Deposit collection stood at Taka 52.01 billion through all the 381 branches till the end of the fiscal.
Various innovative programmes like open agriculture loan disbursement, loan fair, loan recovery grand camp and deposit collection fair helped the bank attaining the success.
