There are quite 315 US state area codes which are all allocated to specific states, towns, and cities throughout the us . There also are 15 other US area codes that aren’t assigned to a selected geographical area .
Some states use only one code for the whole state but the bulk use different and unique US state area codes for cities, towns, and counties, or specific countries of a US state. Generally, highly populated states within the US have quite one US state code to make sure there’s a continuing supply of phone numbers within the region.
he us area codes were created and are monitored by Federal state authorities, the North American Numbering Plan Administrator (NANP), and therefore the FCC have jurisdiction over the phonephone number administration. The FCC gives the authority to states when deciding when and the way to feature and introduce code listings by number within the US.
