Bangladesh Institute of Glass and Ceramics is a technical institute which concentrates in education interconnected to glass and ceramics. The institute situated in Tejgoan the capital of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Institute of Glass and Ceramics (BIGC) is the oldest institute in Bangladesh and it is one and only institute of its kind in Bangladesh.

The foundation of the establishment goes back to eleventh March, 1951. At that time the institute named as “East Bengal Ceramics Institute”. In 1960 the organization was renamed “East Pakistan Institute of Glass and Ceramics”. In 1971 Bangladesh rose as a free country from Pakistan, the organization was again renamed as “Bangladesh Institute of Glass and Ceramics” in 1972. For More Public Polytechnic Institute Check Here.

With the developing requests of Glass and Ceramics part of mid-level specialized labor home and abroad 3(three) years confirmation in Ceramic innovation was presented in year 1978 and certificate in Glass Engineering was presented in year 2000.

Term of the Glass and Ceramic Engineering Course has changed to 4(four) Years from year 2000. Presently this course is a piece of the Diploma in designing educational modules under Bangladesh Technical Education Board. In 2000 SSC (Vocational) 2(two) years course was additionally presented rather than 1 (one) year Artisan course in the exchanges of Glass and Ceramic.
