Patuakhali Science & Technology University

Patuakhali Science & Technology University is a state fund public University in Bangladesh. The University is also known as a PSTU.  In Barisal PSTU is the first and only Science and Technology University.

Formally PSTU started its academic curriculum after government gazette announcement with the campus of previous Patuakhali Agricultural College.  The University began its journey with the faculty of Agriculture.  At first it was under the attachment of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU).

The College was government owned fund at 01 February 1985. Then it was controlled by the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute.

After that the government of Bangladesh launched a project to set up a science and technology University where none exit. Then the project promoted the alteration of Patuakhali Agricultural College into the full developed Patuakhali Science and Technology University on 12 July 2001.

Generally the University situated in Dumki Upazilla under the Patuakhali District. The University occupies 72 acres of land including 37 acres agricultural research farm. At present after establishing the fisheries Faculty, the authority has to plan to acquire 800 acres of land at Kuakata. This faculty will conduct on fish covering inland and marine fisheries. • Faculty of Disaster Management
• Faculty of Nutrition and Food Science
• Faculty of Land Management and Administration
• Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine
